Top 5 Energy-Saving Tips
Energy bills can be tough, especially during extreme weather. Here are a few free and inexpensive ideas that might help ease the load a bit and help you lower your bills — without sacrificing comfort:
- Add caulk or weatherstripping to seal air leaks around drafty doors and windows.
- Unplug electronics when not in use — even off, they still use power.
- Turn off ceiling fans when you leave home – fans cool people, not rooms.
- Switch to LED bulbs where possible — they use up to 80% less energy.
- If you have a smart thermostat, set up automated schedules to reduce heating and cooling when you’re asleep or away — even small adjustments can save up to 10% per year on your energy bills without sacrificing comfort.
